How it works

Work out the volume in cubic feet, then divide by each bag's yield: 80-lb ≈ 0.6, 60-lb ≈ 0.45, 40-lb ≈ 0.3 cubic feet.

Example

A 27 cu ft pour needs about 45 × 80-lb, 60 × 60-lb, or 90 × 40-lb bags.

Frequently asked questions

Which bag size is cheapest?
Bigger bags are usually cheaper per cubic foot and mean fewer to mix — but they're heavier. Over ~1 cubic yard, ready-mix beats bags.
